Eligibility To Become A Certified VOSB AND SDVOSB

SMALL BUSINESS

Be a small business as classified by the SBA size standards under your company’s primary NAICS.

VETERAN STATUS

As defined by the VA, a veteran is “a person who served on active duty with the Army, Air Force, Navy, Marine Corps, or Coast Guard for any length of time and who was discharged or released under conditions other than dishonorable. ” National Guard members may also qualify, if called into federal active duty.

A service-disabled veteran is a veteran who has been issued a rating letter by the VA, or determination by the DOD, between 0-100%.

OWNERSHIP

The business must be directly owned by one or more veterans, or disabled veterans, whom make up 51% or more of the ownership.

CONTROL

The qualifying veteran(s) or disabled-veteran(s) must have direct control of the business, day-to-day operations, and management decisions. The veteran(s) must also be educated in the business’s industry, as well as hold the highest compensated position of the company.
