service-disabled & veteran owned small businesses

Veterans can receive hefty benefits as a government contractor when they are certified as such. Veterans, and service-disabled veterans can get their business certified to gain a competitive edge over their competition. Receive direct no-bid contracts, set-aside RFP/RFQ opportunities, and preference as a subcontractor over all other small businesses.

When you choose The Registrations Group for your SDVOSB or VOSB certification application, we include:

    • SAM registration if you don’t have one
    • registration to see contracting opportunities
    • Capabilities Statement design after certification award, and a list of government buyers in your state to start marketing to.

The government spends an average of $33 BILLION with veteran businesses, while $6 BILLION is directly set aside for VOSB & SDVOSB certified companies only.

Eligibility To Become A Certified VOSB AND SDVOSB

Be a small business as classified by the SBA size standards under your company’s primary NAICS.

As defined by the VA, a veteran is “a person who served on active duty with the Army, Air Force, Navy, Marine Corps, or Coast Guard for any length of time and who was discharged or released under conditions other than dishonorable. ” National Guard members may also qualify, if called into federal active duty.

A service-disabled veteran is a veteran who has been issued a rating letter by the VA, or determination by the DOD, between 0-100%.

The business must be directly owned by one or more veterans, or disabled veterans, whom make up 51% or more of the ownership.

The qualifying veteran(s) or disabled-veteran(s) must have direct control of the business, day-to-day operations, and management decisions. The veteran(s) must also be educated in the business’s industry, as well as hold the highest compensated position of the company.

Key Benefits of the veteran certifications:

  • VOSB & SDVOSB firms received $6 billions in federal spending in the government’s FY2020, and $5.5 billion in FY2019.
  • Through the VA’s “rule of two,” a contract must be set aside if there are two or more qualified SDVOSB firms that can perform the contract.
  • Receive access to sole-source (no-bid) contracts.
  • Opportunities are set aside strictly for veteran firms only to participate.
  • Receive endless subcontracting opportunities from prime contractors who have SDVOSB & VOSB subcontracting goals on contracts.
